Package Overview

A 4-day safari visiting Hell's Gate and Maasai Mara. The best place to view the birds where you get an excellent view over the lake and the wonderful spectacle of pink flamingos along its edge. Maasai Mara: The Masai Mara Game Reserve is one of the best places in Africa for wildlife viewing. Game drives are a great way to experience the park, and they take place all year round.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Nairobi/Masai Mara National Reserve

  An early morning drive to Masai Mara National Reserve, it holds on as one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of Wildebeest, Zebras and attendant predators. Arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive (optional extra cost).

• Day 2 : Masai Mara National Reserve

  After breakfast we have a full day dame drive, with packed lunch provided. The reserve is well known for its black-manned lion, as well as its abundant resident wildlife and its one of the few places where it's possible to see the big five during a morning's game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under one's vehicle and several even climb onto the roof to get better view of prospective prey. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these 16 species of eagle, plus many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks 4 of bustard (including the Kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sun birds.

• Day 3 : Maasai Mara Game Reserve to Lake Naivasha

  After breakfast, you'll drive to Naivasha. On arrival, check into the hotel. Later, spend the afternoon at leisure (optional boat ride). Have dinner and your overnight stay at Pelican Lodge. Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus. The lake and its surrounds are rich in natural bounty, and the fertile soils and water supply have made this one of Kenya's prime agricultural regions. Much of the lake is surrounded by forests of the yellow-barked Acacia xanthophlea, known as the yellow fever tree. These forests abound with birdlife, and Naivasha is known as a world-class birding destination. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia, buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the lake's large hippo population sleep the day out in the shallows.

• Day 4 : Lake Naivasha- Nairobi

  We end our safari by driving to Hell's Gate National Park, which is mainly, comprised of savannah ecosystem harbours a wide variety of wildlife. There are over 100 species of birds in the park, including vultures, Verreaux's Eagles, augur buzzard, and swifts. African buffalo, zebra, eland, hartebeest, Thomson's gazelle, and baboons are also common.
