Char Dham refers to four sacred pilgrimage sites in the Indian Himalayas: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, Goddess Ganga, Lord Shiva, and Lord Vishnu, respectively. The pilgrimage, undertaken in this order, symbolizes spiritual purification and liberation. The journey typically starts and ends in Haridwar, spanning around 10 to 12 days. Conducted between April and November, it is a spiritually significant yatra that attracts devotees seeking blessings and moksha (salvation).

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Haridwar to Barkot (220 km / 7-8 hours)

  Depart from Haridwar.
  En route, visit Kempty Falls (optional).
  Overnight stay in Barkot.

• Day 2 : Barkot to Yamunotri and back to Barkot (36 km drive + 6 km trek one way)

  Drive to Janki Chatti.
  Trek to Yamunotri, visit the Yamunotri Temple, and take a dip in the hot springs.
  Trek back to Janki Chatti and return to Barkot.
  Overnight stay in Barkot.

• Day 3 : Barkot to Uttarkashi (100 km / 4-5 hours)

  Drive to Uttarkashi, visiting Prakateshwar Cave en route.
  Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi.
  Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

• Day 4 : Uttarkashi to Gangotri and back to Uttarkashi (100 km one way)

  Drive to Gangotri.
  Visit Gangotri Temple and take a holy dip in the Ganga (Bhagirathi River).
  Return to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.

• Day 5 : Uttarkashi to Rampur (200 km / 7-8 hours)

  Drive to Rampur via scenic mountain roads.
  Overnight stay in Rampur.

• Day 6 : Rampur to Kedarnath (30 km drive + 16 km trek)

  Drive to Sonprayag and then to Gaurikund.
  Trek to Kedarnath Temple (or use a pony, palki, or helicopter).
  Visit Kedarnath Temple and attend evening aarti.
  Overnight stay in Kedarnath.

• Day 7 : Kedarnath to Rampur (16 km trek + 30 km drive)

  Trek back to Gaurikund and drive to Rampur.
  Overnight stay in Rampur

• Day 8 : Rampur to Chopta to Pipalkoti (140 km / 6-7 hours)

  Drive to Chopta, also known as the "Mini Switzerland of India."
  Enjoy the scenic beauty and optionally visit Tungnath Temple (trek required).
  Continue to Pipalkoti for an overnight stay.

• Day 9 : Pipalkoti to Badrinath to Mana Village to Pipalkoti (100 km round trip)

  Drive to Badrinath Temple, perform darshan, and take a dip in Tapt Kund.
  Visit Mana Village, the last Indian village near the Tibet border.
  Return to Pipalkoti for an overnight stay.

• Day 10 : Pipalkoti to Rudraprayag to Devprayag to Rishikesh to Haridwar (220 km / 8-9 hours)

  Drive through Rudraprayag and Devprayag, the confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi.
  Visit key attractions in Rishikesh like Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula.
  Arrive in Haridwar, concluding the yatra.
